Well, Aston Martin has done it again. A few months after saying that it would not build an Aston Martin Vantage with a V12 engine, the British automaker has decided to build one anyway and introduced it at the recent Monterey Car Week. The impressive Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster introduced in California earlier this week features a very potent 12-cylinder engine and it will be built, albeit in very limited quantities.
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.2-litrel V12 which delivers 690 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. This is the same engine that is found in the larger Aston Martin DB11 and DBS. According to Aston Martin, this V12 Vantage Roadster will be one of the quickest and fastest front-engined roadsters in the world. It will be capable of doing over 300 km/h and it will reach 100 km km/h in under 4 seconds.
Visually, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster looks very much like the traditional V8 Vantage Roadster. That said, it gets a brand-new dual exhaust system with the outlets sitting beneath the rear diffuser and built from lightweight stainless steel. This lowers the exhaust weight by 16 lb compared to the V8 model. Moreover, the hood, fenders, sill extensions, and a wide range of other elements are made of carbon fibre. The overall body is wider and the hood is higher to fit the larger engine.
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is a worthy successor to one of the most legendary performance coupes and convertibles ever built, the previous V12 Roadster. This new generation will be limited to just 249 examples, however, making it very exclusive. Every single Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster has been sold already.
Give us a call today to learn more about the Aston Martin lineup and the Vantage Roadster which regardless of the engine is a true high-performance grand touring vehicle in the pure tradition of Aston Martin.
