Aston Martin is already putting its F1 expertise to use with the all-new Valkyrie AMR Pro designed in collaboration with F1 pilots Sebastien Vettel and Lance Stroll. The new hypercar delivers a level of performance that approaches an F1 car according to Aston Martin.
The Valkyrie AMR Pro was designed by Adrian Newey and originally built as a race car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a limited run of road cars. The heavy investment in F1 has resulted in a slight shift in plans with the Valkyrie AMR Pro unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show taking the spotlight.
The improved AMR Pro was revealed earlier this month with an impressive 1,000 horsepower. The car is described by Newey as a Valkyrie on steroids. The AMR Pro will be track-only, but Newey says the level of performance will far exceed what we see on previous track-exclusive Aston Martin vehicles.
The engine powering the beast is a 6.5-litre V12, but the engine has been tweaked differently now that the AMR Pro isn’t headed to Le Mans. Aston Martin engineers were also able to add more ground effects and aerodynamics to further enhance the AMR Pro.
